NTG Blueprint Event – May 6

On May 6, delegates from different EU member states, tourism ministries, academics, educational institutes and other interests gathered for the first NTG Blueprint Event in Brussels. The event focused on exploring and discussing the opportunities to establish a Tourism Blueprint European network behind theNTG eight target countries(Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany) and with the participation of other countries. The NTG key partnersFederturismo Confindustria,Breda University of Applied Sciences,Cardiff Metropolitan University, People 1st,Technological University Dublin,EurogitesandCEHATwere present during the event.

Objectives of the NTG Blueprint workshop:

1.To present the NTG Blueprint Strategy approach and its first results/developments to the European Ministries of Tourism and Education (i.e., the NTG Skills Assessment Report and Methodology, results from field research, the NTG Skills Matrix, and the Industry-Led Skills Groups);

2.To present innovative European practices, priorities, actions and investments in skills development for the 5 subsectors;

3.To discuss key issues and challenges to overcome in implementing a Blueprint strategy.

The main outcomes of the NTG Blueprint workshop focus on:

1.To explore and discuss the opportunities to establish a Tourism Blueprint European network behind the NTG eight target countries (Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany) and with the participation of other countries.

2.To discuss and define possible types of implementation of Blueprint Action Plans in line with different national governance models of skills provision in tourism;

The NTG survey results on the largest digital and sustainability skills gaps were shared at the workshop ‘Skills Development in Tourism.
