European Vocational Skills Week 2019

The European Vocational Skills Week 2019 will be hosted in Helsinki in October 2019. This event focuses on discussing multiple stakeholder perspectives on the implementation of Vocational Education and Training (VET) and how this can be beneficial for the future of Europe. Furthermore, the very best of training and skills through thousands of events and activities across Europe will be highlighted in order to show why Vocational Education and Training is a smart choice for individuals and companies. NTG focuses on developing modules and learning methods that will be integrated into the current European VET system and Industry, providing a benchmark, tools and good practice for green and social skills to support sustainable development and digital and technological innovation within 5 sub-sectors operations.

The Vocational Education and Training (VET) excellence can be showcased by recognising committed people, organisations and outstanding projects. This is why excellence awards are organized in the framework of the week. There is a specific award for Learning at Work, addressed to micro, small and medium companies who value their workers and support their development. A Nominees Awards Celebration event will be held in Helsinki on 17 October. The prizes consist of a trophy/certificate handed out by Marianne Thyssen, European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility.
