“During the Cortina Digital Forum, Corné will talk about the research on digital skills as conducted in the frame of the NTG project. Some findings are that higher levels of digital education in general are needed in tourism, and that a better general understanding of digitization is needed, such as in relation to AI, VR/AR and data analytics. In general, a shift is visible from “job & professions” to “learning & developing skills” (i.e., general skills are getting more important than tourism-specific skills). Furthermore, since tourism is a human-centered industry, “High Tech with a Human Touch” is needed. That is, despite all technological developments the real added value lies in knowing on how to apply technology in a human-centered context, i.e. to build and strengthen relationships, to drive personalization, and to improve digital conversations.” – Corné Dijkmans
